Work with me
I work with a small number of teams at a time, as a fractional product & AI leader, an advisor, or a hands-on builder. The common thread: I own the outcome and I stay close to the code.
AI made building cheap. It didn't make it obvious what to build, whether it should exist, or whether it survives your compliance, your data, and your business. That judgment, fused with the ability to actually ship, is the job.
Who I help
- Founders taking an AI product from zero to its first paying customers.
- Teams with engineers but no senior owner of AI product direction.
- Companies selling into government, defence, or regulated markets who need AI that survives scrutiny.
- Investors and boards who want a hands-on technical read on an AI product or team.
I'm probably not your person for pure deck-ware, staff-augmentation by the hour, or “add AI” with no decision it's meant to improve.
Ways to work together
Discovery sprint
Fixed scope · two to four weeks
We interrogate the opportunity together and you walk away with a clear product direction, an AI architecture you can trust, and a costed 90-day plan. A cheap way to de-risk an expensive decision.
Fractional product & AI lead
Ongoing · part of your week
I own the roadmap and the AI architecture and stay in the codebase: the senior product-and-engineering hire you can't yet justify full-time. Minimum three months, so it compounds.
Advisory
Month to month · on call
For teams who already have a lead but want a senior AI operator to pressure-test the plan. Roadmap, architecture reviews, and the build-vs-buy calls that are hard to make alone.
Build sprint
Scoped delivery
I take one hard thing (a first AI feature, a working prototype, an evaluation harness) and ship it end to end. Something real your team can build on, not a demo that dies after the meeting.
Larger product or platform builds are quoted on scope. Not sure which fits? Start with a call and we'll work it out.
How an engagement runs
Frame the problem
A short, paid piece of work to get inside the product, the data, the constraints, and the actual decision we're improving. We agree what good looks like before anything bigger is committed.
Draw the map
Product direction, AI architecture, and the build-vs-buy calls, written down. A plan you could hand to a team, with the reasoning attached so it survives contact with reality.
Build alongside you
A weekly rhythm where I stay hands-on: writing specs, reviewing the work, and shipping the parts that matter most. Strategy and code from one person, not a hand-off.
A note on confidentiality
Much of my work is in national security, defence, and regulated markets, so a lot of it is under NDA. I'll talk openly about method, architecture, and outcomes, just not client names. Working discreetly is part of the job, not a limitation.
Have something in mind?
Tell me the decision you're trying to improve, or the product you're trying to ship. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.
Currently taking on a small number of fractional, advisory, and build engagements.
